New Leadership Aims to Enhance Engineering Excellence and Mentorship within Hansen International

LEXINGTON, S.C. (May 1, 2024) – Hansen International, Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of John Helgesen as their new Engineering Manager. He holds a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design and a Master’s of Business Administration from Auburn University, bringing a strong background in design and management to the company.

Having already begun his new role, Helgesen aims to use his diverse industry experience to help streamline engineering operations and align them with current standards. Over time, he plans to develop the team by providing internal opportunities for mentorship, such as sharing knowledge from experienced engineers to help bring younger engineers up to speed with the industry.

“The company wants to try something different to be able to grow, and that’s awesome. I love that,” Helgesen said as he expressed his excitement about the innovative spirit at Hansen. “We have a good basis of what we’re doing, but bringing in that experience of what works and what doesn’t work is a big focus; and then there’s also mentoring and bringing up the younger engineers.”

However, what excites him the most about his new role is Hansen’s storied history and its impact on safety and emergency response industries. “To be a part of an industry that supports those brave people is exciting,” Helgesen said. “To be able to say, ‘We have parts on that fire truck, we’re helping people, we’re working on something that’s going to save somebody’s life, save their house, get them out of a car wreck…’ Helping provide that service to people throughout the country and throughout the world— it’s all very exciting.”
